Many diners were distressed by the departure of Revolution 2029 from the Hollywood restaurant scene. But fans of former chef David Sloane now have a reason to celebrate: He's turned up as executive chef at Dancing Bear (333 E. Las Olas Blvd., Fort Lauderdale, 954-779-7374). Sloane's inventive comfort-food recipes -- bourbon-glazed beef tenderloin, lobster-chorizo potpie, and crispy red snapper with red-pepper rémoulade and eggplant caviar -- not only fit in at this casual eatery, they elevate it to the level of fine dining. In fact, his new dinner menu debuted just this past week. "Now Mark's got competition," Sloane says, referring to Mark Militello of Mark's Las Olas. Celebrity-chef death match, anyone?
