Ever wonder what it would be like to be served by lottery winners? No? Well, anyway, now you can experience this unique pleasure at the Whale's Rib (2031 NE Second St., Deerfield Beach, 954-421-8880), where several employees joined together to purchase a Florida lottery ticket a few weeks ago. In a once-in-a-lifetime kind of way, their whaling ship came in, and each of the staffers became $270,000 richer. But in a show of loyalty that few restaurants command anymore, no one's quit this perpetually busy seafood shack. Personally I think it's because then these folks would have to become regular customers and pay for those tasty fried Ipswich clams or the justly famous homemade chips.
