Well, anyway, now you can experience this unique pleasure at the Whale's Rib (2031 NE Second St., Deerfield Beach, 954-421-8880), where several employees joined together to purchase a Florida lottery ticket a few weeks ago. In a once-in-a-lifetime kind of way, their whaling ship came in, and each of the staffers became $270,000 richer. But in a show of loyalty that few restaurants command anymore, no one's quit this perpetually busy seafood shack. Personally I think it's because then these folks would have to become regular customers and pay for those tasty fried Ipswich clams or the justly famous homemade chips.
