Of course we locals know that Palm Beach County has been blossoming with good restaurants, but does the nation know it? Well, it does now, considering that Nation's Restaurant News just featured PBC in its "What's Hot" column. Among the restaurants featured, Big City Tavern (224 Clematis St., West Palm Beach, 561-659-1853) and East City Bistro (777 W. Atlantic Ave., Delray Beach, 561-266-0744) figure prominently. As well they should: Big City's duck with fresh mango and basil risotto and City Bistro's fried oysters with roasted-corn salsa deserve coast-to-coast kudos. Now if only we can convince the national press that Fort Lauderdale has some terrific finds as well, we'll be in business.
