More About

Bob's been gone for more than 20 years now, but thanks to a brood almost as large as his song list and, for all practical purposes, a canonization in his homeland of Jamaica, the man's music lives on. The Bob Marley "One Foundation" Caribbean Festival this weekend features both a large group of the Marley clan -- Bob's sons Stephen, Julian, and Damian (pictured) and mother Cedella Marley Booker -- as well as a host of other reggae artists and rappers. Including hip-hop artists such as DMX and local yokel Mr. Cheeks is hardly a surprise, given reggae's slow but steady dancehall direction, but reggae makes up the vast majority of the lineup, with Bunny Wailer, Tony Rebel, and Honorable Apache on the bill, along with several others. Rhythm-and-blues/rap fusionists Erykah Badu and recent addition Lauryn Hill round out the pack of performers.
