This is the way to promote an event: Throw four or five pre-event parties for the sole reason of garnering enthusiasm. The Boca Raton Historical Society is doing just that with Boca Bacchanal, a wine fest and auction that will take place in March. Once a month, leading up to the grand fete, the society and various restaurants will host a variety of cocktail hours. The next such happening, featuring "sparkling wine and innovative contemporary American appetizers," takes place November 12 at 32 East (32 E. Atlantic Ave., Delray Beach, 561-276-7868), where executive chef Nick Morfogen will pair "by the bite" amuse-bouches with a bunch of different bubblies. Ticket prices for the parties vary -- the one at 32 East is $30 per person -- but the requirements for attendance remain the same: You must reserve your space with a credit card or check at 561-395-6766, and you should, of course, worship Bacchus.
