With several new players this year, the A-league Jupiter Hammerheadsare looking to improve upon last year, when they clinched the second half title. What the team really needs is a great rivalry. There isn't the same sort of feverish hatred for other clubs that many major league teams enjoy. So, we'll create some right now. Screw those Palm Beach Cardinal bitches! They aren't fit to share Roger Dean Stadium (4751 Main St., Jupiter) with our boys from Jupiter! To arms! To arms! It's a pity that now we have to wait until May to play them again, having gone 2 and 2 in the four-game season opener. This week, the Hammerheads finish the last two games of a four-game series against the Fort Myers Miracle on Thursday and Friday at 7:05 p.m. before playing two games against the Daytona Cubs on Saturday at 7:05 p.m. and Sunday at 1:05 p.m. It's your last chance to see the Hammerheads before a week-long road trip. Help Your Animal Friends

Leading up to Quiet Waters Park's (401 S. Powerline Rd., Deerfield Beach) Earth Day festival (see Urban Experience, page 26), the park plays host to Walk for Wildlife, an event that benefits the Wildlife Care Center. Animal lovers can take the one-and-a-quarter-mile trek after a breakfast provided by Earthsave Miami. Those who go all out and raise at least $75 get a T-shirt and a bandana for their best friend awaits them at the finish line. If someone really cashes in, top prizes include DVD players and digital cameras. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. and the walk begins at 10 a.m. Call 954-524-7564. -- Dan Sweeney

Lettin' the Fur Fly

Has your dog been looking at you funny again? Maybe it's because you bought the cheaper dog food and thought Sparky wouldn't notice. Maybe Spot chewed up your new sneakers and is racked with guilt. Or maybe it's because they're waiting to hear those three magic words: Wanna go outside? Markham Park offers basic and advanced canine Frisbee classes for dogs age six months and older. The classes teach dogs commands, competition, and also let them have some good ol' fun in the sun. Owners should bring a collar, leash, treats, water bowl, and bags to pick up waste. Dogs should be current on all vaccinations. Frisbees are provided by the instructor. Classes take place every Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Markham Park, 16001 W. State Rd. 84, Sunrise.
