Hey, do you love drinking? How about kayaking? Have you ever wished there were a way to combine kayaking and drinking? Hasn't everybody? Well, you're in luck. Cellars Warehouse and Full Moon Kayak Co. have joined forces for a double-header called A Taste of Venice. For one night and one night only, participants can sample a variety of fine wines at Cellars Warehouse (1739 E. Sunrise Blvd., Fort Lauderdale), then take a two-hour kayak tour down Las Olas' Venetian Isles waterways. Then, after you've exhausted yourself, it's time to drink more! It's genius, really. Get outdoors, get a workout, and enjoy the onset of fall all in one night. The event starts at 6 p.m. and the $45 fee includes the winetasting and a brief instruction course for beginners. One thing you can tell your Midwest relatives who will be coming down to visit as autumn rolls around and the weather gets less unbearable is that the raw fish you get here is just plain better. Since we're living in what should be jungle and swampland anyway, maybe your choice of pet should reflect that. If you have yet to invest in a snake, lizard, turtle, or other reptilian/amphibian creature, your chance to procure a cold-blooded buddy comes Saturday at Flamingo Gardens' (3750 S. Flamingo Rd., Davie) "Reptile Expo and Sale." From 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., some of the most exotic of reptile and amphibian species are available to view or buy. Be careful what you wish for, though -- many of these animals require a great deal of care and a careful commitment to their health, so don't buy if you can't give your new pal everything he needs.
