More About

Boca will no doubt adore Bocadoro (Shops at Boca Center, 5150 Town Center Circle, Boca Raton, 561-338-4808), which will debut this month. Subtitled "A Mediterranean Village Feast," Bocadoro is the second South Florida project for ex-Cheesecake Factory executive Doug Zeif and his restaurant company, Fifth Taste Concepts, following Brasserie Las Olas. "We have been in love with the Shops at Boca Center since we started looking at it more than four years ago," Zeif says. "Our strategy with regard to restaurant concepts has always been to 'hit it where they ain't.' Bocadoro, in part, was developed to fill a void in the city." To that end, Bocadoro will offer both classic and innovative dishes from the Mediterranean countries of Turkey, Greece, Italy, France, and Spain, as well as northern Africa; the 70 menu items range from swordfish kebabs to lamb tagine with raisins and figs to chicken cacciatore ravioli in a light tomato broth with avocado-pistachio pesto. Zeif promises prices that will bridge the gap between casual and fine dining, along with a wine list that will cater to the customer without gouging, which means we can save money on the first bottle to spend on the second. Yup, my void's feeling pretty full just thinking about it.
