Eddie "The Chief" Clearwater featuring Los Straitjackets

"Son, you got a Mexican wrestling mask on your head"

Headgear is mighty important in this business. Which is what gives this upcoming double shot -- a pair of area shows featuring Chicago blues legend Eddy "The Chief" Clearwaterand that crazy quartet of surf avengers who call themselves Los Straitjackets-- such drawing power. The 68-year-young Clearwater rarely appears without his signature Indian headdress, and Los Straitjackets never perform sans their Mexican wrestling masks. The Chief's always had a wild rock streak and the fire of a man half his age mixed up in his blues. Bringing out that youthful burn, his recent collaboration with Los 'Jackets (Rock 'n' Roll City) tears it up with vintage fury. All five fanatics hit the Bamboo Room (25 S. "J" St., Lake Worth, 561-585-BLUE) at 8 p.m. Saturday, November 22, and then Sushi Blues and Blue Monk Lounge (2009 Harrison St., Hollywood, 954-929-9560) at 9 p.m. Sunday, November 23.
