American Social Hires Curt Hicken as Executive Chef, Reinvents Menu
By http://blogs.browardpalmbeach.com/cleanplatecharlie/2013/05/american_social_hires_curt_hic.php
The South Florida chapter of the American Institute of Wine and Food(954-396-3875) has launched "Summer Sundays," a series of wine luncheons held at top Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach restaurants. The next one takes place July 11 at Johnny V on Las Olas Boulevard, where you can catch a buzz -- I mean, have the opportunity to tastefully and responsibly sample offerings from the BR Cohn winery that have been thoughtfully matched with Johnny's boldly flavored cuisine. The four-course meal kicks off at 1:30 pm with a reception at the bar, followed by foods such as yellow tomato gazpacho with crispy garlic shrimp (and Chardonnay Reserve) and red chili-roasted venison with boniato (Cabernet Sauvignon). Tickets are $55 for members, $65 for non-members, and must be purchased in advance. If you miss this soirée, the following Summer Sunday will be August 22 at the Betty Ford Clinic -- I mean, Café Boulud in Palm Beach.
