The CD cover for Georgia blues rock quintet Delta Moon is truly weird. A bearded man wearing only overalls and a grin stands in a field of flowers holding a guitar. Behind him are two green, glowing aliens and a perfectly Photoshopped UFO in a menacing sky. It made it really hard to open the CD.

But once you do, the tunes on Goin' Down South are like a scene out of Urban Cowboy --dirty, gritty, and begging to know "Are you a real cowboy?" Delta Moon could be the house band at Gilley's, framing bar fights and bull rides. And if there are some damn aliens in there somewhere, so be it. -- Audra Schroeder
