Every Boston album cover, beginning with the band's self-titled 1976 debut, features a funky spaceship. The image -- usually a gigantic psychedelic saucer topped with a glass dome -- passed down to 1978's Don't Look Back, 1986's Third Stage, 1994's Walk On, the Greatest Hits album in 1997, and even their most recent release, Corporate America, in 2002.

Regardless, four decades later, nothing needs to be said about Boston beyond singing the first line ("I looked out this morning and the sun was gone") from the very first album's very first song, "More Than a Feeling." The song makes you think of summer, or a Labor Day rock 'n' roll song countdown, or coolers of Bud and the vague sense that, somewhere, someone is actually celebrating the holiday with a parade or something, but you aren't because you're at the lake and about to go water-skiing. -- Dave Amber
