Is any group more down on its luck this year than Dave Wannstedt and the Miami Dolphins? After dropping their season opener at home for the second straight year, they lost to the Bengals in Cincinnati on week two, dropping them to 0-2 for the first time since 1988. What's more, their hated rivals, those lousy, stinking New York Jets, are off to one of their best seasons in recent memory, thanks in large part to a young quarterback, an old running back, and a former Miami Hurricane. Chad Pennington, Curtis Martin, and Santana Moss drive a Jets squad that has averaged some 400 yards of offense early this season. This very juggernaut, the dreaded Gang Green, comes to Pro Player Stadium (2269 Dan Marino Blvd., Miami) this Sunday. Hated rivals, you say? Oh sure, the Fins took both games from the Jets last season. But before that, Miami was New York's bitch, losing nine of ten faceoffs -- including eight in a row -- since 1998. The all-time series between the teams is even at 38-38, which means that this week's duel is a tie-breaker of sorts. Ever heard of Farm Sanctuary? (Hey, no lame bestiality cracks, please!) The Sanctuary is a national animal protection agency that rescues pigs, cows, chickens, and other creatures from factory farms and slaughterhouses. The organization also raises public awareness regarding cruelty-free alternatives to food production. Currently, it's urging Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger to ban foie gras in California. So what does all this have to do with you? Well, if this cause touches your heart, do something about it this Saturday -- World Farm Animals Day.
