Mouse on Mars

Mouse on Mars are the young lions of German techno, their squishy, bulbous music so thoroughly modern and forward-looking that it makes Kraftwerk sound like an old Volkswagen. Ten years after their debut, the duo of Jan St. Werner and Andi Toma remains well ahead of the curve, but Radical Connector, their eighth and newest album, is their least obtuse work yet. Credit goes to guest drummer/vocalist Dodo Nkishi, who helps give Radical Connector some sonic heft and makes the Mouse on Mars live experience an ass-kicking (and extremely loud) shot in the circuit board. -- Jeff Stratton

Mouse on Mars, Ratatat, and Junior Boys perform at 10 p.m. Saturday, October 16, at I/O, 30 NE 14th St., Miami. Tickets cost $10. Call 305-358-8007.
