E.C. Scott and Smoke

How could anyone not be intrigued by a woman called "The Empress of Soul"? E.C. Scott is not exactly the model of a blues and soul singer on paper -- I mean, California is not really known for blues singers -- but when she starts to wail, you will be reassured that she is nothing less than, well, the Empress of Soul. Hell, she'd be the Queen if that title hadn't already been taken by you know who. Most people think all the good blues songs were written 50 years ago, but E.C. will perform original material when she and her band, Smoke, hit the stage. -- Maggie-Margret
