You may subscribe to the erroneous belief that folk music is boring. Then you might as well believe in the Tooth Fairy, pal, 'cause Cleopatra's Noodle proves that raw guitars and fast beats aren't necessary for fun music. Led by Delray Beach-based folkie Rod MacDonald, the Noodle plays an inspiring brand of Irish folk music seasoned with a parcel of bluegrass. And all that's needed is a guitar, a mandolin, a fiddle (or violin), and a heavy dose of politically charged lyrics -- some of which are serious, like "137 Executions (and Not One Innocent Man)." Other songs, like "The Governator," are just plain hilarious. So pull the cotton out of your ears and check out tonight's free performance at the Bamboo Room (25 S. "J" St., Lake Worth). The show starts at 9 p.m. Call 561-585-2583.
