Calvin Broadus -- the former gangbanger you know as Snoop Dogg -- makes contagious records, is the star/producer of an award-winning porno he shows no skin in, and is forever at the forefront of funkafied hip-hop pimpdom. Others imitate, but who could possibly rival the D-O-Double-G's laid-back hustler cool, slow drawl, and stoned-to-the-gills persona? He came out blazing in the early '90s and turned the tables on the game by trading in his AK for a diamond-studded Superfly cup, a cane, and a limp. These days, the leader of the pound is right back where he belongs: on top of the charts with R&G (Rhythm and Gangsta): The Masterpiece. Damn it, we love ya, Dogg Father. Welcome to sunny Fort Lauderdale.

Snoop Dogg drops it like it's hot at 7 p.m. Monday, January 31, at Revolution, 200 W. Broward Blvd., Fort Lauderdale. Tickets cost $40, and the show is all-ages. Call 954-727-9540.
