His father accompanied Miles Davis on piano; his brother played bass for George Benson. It seems DJ Disciple is destined for musical greatness. Disciple has spent the past few years burning up NYC's underground scene with his eclectic mix of garage, disco, Latin, and hard house. Last year, he released his debut album, My True Colors, on his own Catch 22 Recordings. The disc was a dance-floor smash, praised by everyone from Billboard to Muzik Magazine, which described it as "sheer, unadulterated pleasure." His recently released mix RedLite was recorded live at the Montreal club of the same name, where Disciple holds a monthly residency. Miami got a good dose of Disciple earlier this year at the Winter Music Conference when, along with Pete Tong, he leveled the Versace mansion during the Caine party. If he carries that momentum into Saturday's set at Nocturnal, he'll be one step closer to legend.
