After suffering the breakdown of their seminal hardcore band, Indecision, in early 2000, Justin Brannan and Rachel Rosen retreated to New York City and re-formed as Most Precious Blood. Following the relentless attitude of their do-it-yourself roots, MPB is a return-to-basics hardcore/metal outfit, stripped of the over-the-top metallic tendencies that reduce many to shit, fully embracing the darker aspects of the musical psyche. Think Agnostic Front and the Cro-Mags dating the Sisters of Mercy. Ah... remember when metal/hardcore shows had ambulances on standby outside? Remember when metal was good? And you can trust these guys not only because of their old Indecision bones but because members have stinted in Milhouse (a '90s fave!), Cause for Alarm, and One King Down. Expect aural brutality, expect a small speech about cruelty toward animals (they support PETA and ASPCA), but expect honesty too.

Most Precious Blood performs with Evergreen Terrace at 9 p.m. Saturday, July 23, at the Factory, 2674 E. Oakland Park Blvd., Fort Lauderdale. Call 954-564-ROCK.
