Back just two months after its last capacity show at the Culture Room, the Benevento-Russo Duo brings a secret weapon to its New Year's Eve eargasm: dorktastic former Phish bassist Mike Gordon. That adds up to a drum 'n' bass 'n' keys trio that jam-fan wet dreams are made of. Since the demise of his former band, Gordon's been a regular on the Duo's stage, so these three are well-practiced and ready to shimmy tighter than St. Nick down a chimney. When they tear into "Mike's Song," you just might forget all about what's-their-names from Vermont. Local freak-soul outfit Awesome New Republic warms up, making this show the choice for those revelers who wanna ring in the new year in high style.
