Drunk On Stage

“I believe that if life gives you lemons, you should make lemonade. And try to find somebody whose life gives them vodka, and have a party!” That’s a typical gem from Ron White, a.k.a. Tater Salad, the big, loveable guy who got famous as one fourth of the successful Blue Collar Comedy Tour, which also starred comedians Jeff Foxworthy, Bill Engvall and Larry the Cable Guy.

The happy-go-lucky guy with the twinkling blue eyes is rarely seen without cigar and a glass of scotch. He told the website inweekly.net that he used to smoke cigarettes, too – so many that he was “going through two lighters a day.” With so many bad habits, there have been dozens of false reports of his death, which he constantly has to refute on his website. But he doesn’t want to “try to get rid of my demons. I just try to make them shut up.”

Of course he can’t get rid of them – they’re his shtick. In 2003, he released an album, Drunk in Public, based on lines like this: “Hey, hey, hey! I was drunk in a bar. They threw me into public. I don't want to be drunk in public, I want to be drunk in a bar... which is perfectly legal. Arrest them!"
