Queen Beeyotch

Lampanelli ain’t playin’

You may think it overly presumptuous of comic Lisa Lampanelli to call herself the “Queen of Mean.” Of course, Ann Coulter never claimed that title, so the honor is all Lampanelli’s. After all, it was Lampanelli who took part in the cinematic filth fest known as The Aristocrats. And even that footage pales in comparison to the razor-sharp barbs she hurls in her natural habitat – the celebrity roast. Unlike most roasters who torch only the guest and a few carefully selected audience members (poor Bea Arthur never gets a break), Lampanelli burns the whole house down, one taboo at a time. But we’re not talking jokes about drugs and masturbation. That’s kids’ stuff. Instead, Lampanelli deals the race card – not the most acceptable subject for a white comic to broach. But the Queen couldn’t care less if people think she’s racist; her black boyfriend still loves her anyway. Test your political correctness Thursday through Sunday at the Improv Paradise Live (5700 Seminole Way, Hollywood). Tickets cost $19.08 to $21.20. Call 954-981-5653, or visit www.improvftl.com.
