The Rainbow Must Go On

It’s a long way from the corn fields of Nebraska to the cane fields of Palm Beach County. But for the tour-happy band fronted by Darren Keen, the show’s just over the rainbow. Wait, scratch that – the Show Is the Rainbow. Yep, it has been several months since the red-bearded electro indie-rock avenger has cut the rug locally. This time, though, Keen’s not alone. Having made his name as a one-man, computer-backed wrecking machine, Keen has stepped up his big beat attack with actual band members (a guitarist and drummer). The difference? Mainly that they’ll need a slightly larger vehicle to tour in. Keen’s still the bastard stepchild of Frank Zappa and G.G. Allin. The Show joins Yip Yip Thursday at Respectable Street (518 Clematis St., West Palm Beach). Tickets cost $6. Call 561-832-9999, or visit www.thehoneycomb.com.
Thu., March 2, 9 p.m.
