Mummy Said...

Let dead kings lie

Lord George Carnarvon “mysteriously” died in 1923, a year after he and British archaeologist Howard Carter opened the tomb of King Tutankhamen. Was it because he aggravated a mosquito bite or was it the curse? In the 1980 British film The Curse of King Tut's Tomb, the answer is, well… duh. Of course, there’s more to the story than mere superstition. That’s why local lecturer Kevin Lane gives a talk after Monday’s screening of the film at Cinema Paradiso (503 NE Sixth St., Fort Lauderdale). The film begins at 7 p.m. The curse kicks in a year later. Boo! Call 954-525-FILM, or visit www.fliff.com.
