More About

2006 is the Year of the Queers. Not South Florida’s sizable gay community, but the politically incorrect, potty-mouthed pop-punkers from New Hampshire. With more than 20 years of punk rock experience under his black leather jacket, lead Queer Joe King has a slew of new songs on tap – and he’s more than ready shove ´em down your Yellowcard-lovin’ throat. A new live album, Weekend at Bernie’s, is about to hit stores with a new studio disc to follow. Also in the works are re-mastered versions of the band’s bratty 1990s classics, including Love Songs for the Retarded and Don’t Back Down. You can see the Queers this Saturday (with former drummer Lurch Nobody back in tow), as the group does its best to piss off the crowd at Respectable Street (518 Clematis St., West Palm Beach). Opening are the inimitable Die Stinkin’, Black Heart Radio, and Modern Day 84. Doors open at 7:30 p.m.; tickets cost $10. Call 561-832-9999, or visit www.thequeersrock.com.
