We can’t all make the NFL. But that doesn’t mean we can’t grow thighs the size of tree trunks and crash our 300-pound bodies into one another like a train wreck, all in pursuit of an oddly shaped pigskin ball. The B-list guys have a new home – the Hard Rock Live (5747 Seminole Way, Hollywood) – where a team called the Florida Frenzyis celebrating its inaugural season as part of the National Indoor Football League. Founded in 2001 with 18 franchises, NIFL has grown to 25 teams (including the Palm Beach Phantoms, who are supposed to start playing soon in Delray). The games can be just as exciting or better than the NFL, since (1) these athletes are hungry; (2) the action is a bit more fast-paced; the Florida Frenzy beat the Montgomery Maulers the other day by a score of 66-33; and (3) because games are inside, it can’t possibly rain in your beer.
