´Stock Photography

Photographer Elliot Landy lives in Woodstock, New York. And yes, he was there on that historic day in 1969 when his town’s name became synonymous with the hippie generation. So maybe, just maybe, Landy has a shot or two of Bob Dylan or Janis Joplin rockin’ the stage. But for a guy like Landy who personally knew Dylan, Joplin, and other ´60s icons, those photos are a dime a dozen. Landy’s work often goes outside the harried confines of concert life, depicting the famous figures in a more relaxed, fan-free atmosphere. In 1994, Landy put his photos in print with the book Woodstock Vision: The Spirit of a Generation. However, coffee tables aren’t the same as museums, which is why Landy took two-by-four-foot versions of his photographs on the road with an exhibit of the same name. “Woodstock Vision: The Spirit of a Generation”is open now through June 3 at the Palm Beach Photographic Centre (55 NE Second Ave., Delray Beach).
