Postface managed to squeeze out two releases before dissolving 1991's untitled, 14-song demo and 1994's Roll Out the Barrel. When Hrabovsky left Postface in '97 (he had kids to raise, you know?), the band changed its name to the Ex-Cretins. But rather than find a replacement drummer, the three remaining members took turns behind the skins. That lasted a few more years before the group splintered. "Steve formed Wolfboy and the Fantods, Mike and I formed the Bikes, and Greg became Boxcar Timmy," Ambrose recalls, assuring that it wasn't part of some divide-and-conquer scheme à la the Wu-Tang Clan. Then again, even Wu-Tang does a reunion gig once in a while. And with re-releases planned for both Postface albums, Ambrose says another show may not be far off. "The show in '99 was Postface's only reunion," he says. "Though we're actually thinking about doing it again." The question is, will this be Post-Postface or the Ex-Ex-Cretins? Jason Budjinski
