It's been 16 years since A Tribe Called Quest dropped the tune "Rhythm (Devoted to the Art of Moving Butts)." But only four weeks have passed since the Poor House last devoted itself to the Art of Moving Butts — and damn if it ain't time for another. If you think local hip-hop is dead, you need to move your butt down to Himmarshee this Wednesday for the fourth installment of the monthly event. Hosted by Counterpoint Garments' Paul "Gnu" Jennings, the Art of Moving Butts is all about the rhymes — and not the kind that pair words like grills and mils. This is the underground shit, not club-happy crunk. Wednesday's Art includes words by Wrekonize, Garcia, and Solomon Wise with beats by DJs K-N-S, Stevie D, and doc suS. Move your butt and your mind will follow.
