Along with Diddy and Eminem, Snoop Dogg(AKA Calvin Broadus, AKA the Doggfather) is in the household namecategory of rappers. People still borrow from Snoop's slang (his hiz-ouse), and any of his album tracks, old or new, are likely to set off a college keg party... or a Long Beach car wash. Now the coach of a pee-wee league football team and the man behind many a TV guest appearance, Snoop is as recognizable to hip-hop heads as, well, the parents of pee-wee leaguers. But he's been concentrating more on the limelight of late, as evidenced by his recent collabo with reggaeton patriarch Daddy Yankee on "Gangsta Zone." But Snoop's still busy reppin' the West Coast. You'll know it when he releases the upcoming Dogg Pound album Cali Is Active. Beeyotch.

Snoop Dogg performs at 8 p.m. Thursday, August 3, at the James L. Knight Center, 400 SE Second Ave., Miami. Tickets cost $49 to $100. Call 305-372-4633.
