Better With Butta

Maseo, Butta Verses, and Konfident join DJs Immortal, K-N-S, Uti, and Stevie D.

Hip-hop, you don't stop... or so they say, right? Actually, that's exactly the case this week. After two days of poppin' at Revolution (with Wu-Tang Clan on Friday and the b-boy battle on Saturday), the FTL's looking more like the ATL. And on Wednesday — well after Wu-Tang's gone back to the 36 Chambers — the Clan's opening act, local rhyme-spitter Butta Verses, is back doing the Himmarshee Hustle. And he's joined by no less a headliner than Maseo, AKA Pasemaster Mase of the legendary De La Soul. That's quite the gig for Butta, but it won't be the first time he hooked up with Maseo. On De La Soul's 2004 album, The Grind Date, Butta V. got his verbal licks on the track "No." So don't be surprised if their sets overlap — and if the hip-hop don't stop till the morning hours drop.

Maseo, Butta Verses, and Konfident join DJs Immortal, K-N-S, Uti, and Stevie D. on Wednesday, August 30, at the Poor House, 110 SW Third Ave., Fort Lauderdale. Admission costs $10. The show starts at 10 p.m. Call 954-522-5145, or visit www.myspace.com/artofmovingbutts.
