Despite all the chatter about the death of Clematis Street, there's still one nail that refuses to help close the coffin the annual party known as Moonfest. And ironically, it's the most morbid of them all. For more than a decade, Moonfest has been one Halloweenish party that's not for the whole family. (Check the Night & Day section for more details.) And every year, it has been a great place for costume-clad passersby to check out local bands. Saturday's lineup has a few names from Moonfest past, present, and (possibly) future: Humbert, Boxelder, Hit$How, the People Upstairs, Noble Rocket, Beat Bombers, Modernage, Eight Track Mind, and Gajendra. Be ready for a late night; the street party ends at 1 a.m., but Respectable's will be a hopping-mad freak show long after the costumes come off.
Moonfest 2006 takes place from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m. Saturday, October 28, in the 300 to 500 blocks of Clematis Street in downtown West Palm Beach. Admission is free. Call 561-833-3865, or visit www.moonfest.org.
