Rhymin' Ruler

Pharoahe Monch

As one half of the '90s hip-hop duo Organized Konfusion, Pharoahe Monchtook off on his own in 1999, with the release of Internal Affairs. But that was seven years ago — how much longer do fans have to wait for the Queens-based MC to drop his next full-length? Well, is November 28 too long? That's when his latest disc, Desire, is scheduled to hit the stores. Sure, it's been a while. But that's not to say Monch hasn't kept busy on the singles front. He's already released a track from Desire (the soulfully laid-back "Push"), as well as a number on J Dilla's The Shining ("Love"). Of course, Monch's most listened-to song of late is undoubtedly "The Future," his contribution to Diddy's just-released album, Press Play. Maybe you've heard of it.

Pharoahe Monch joins Dynas and DJs Maseo and Stevie D Saturday, November 4, at Revolution, 200 W. Broward Blvd., Fort Lauderdale. Doors open at 11 p.m. Tickets cost $20. Call 954-727-0950, or visit www.jointherevolution.net.
