People who nostalgically pine for a time before events like the civil rights and womens movements have some explaining to do. Sure, the 1950s had a couple of things going for them, like the drive-in restaurant, the milkman, greasers, and a booming industry for girl groups -- but all that aside, the era reeks of vanilla, no? But if its the girl groups you miss, the new play The Taffetas at the Broward Stage Door (1444 NE 26th St., Wilton Manors) should address your hankerings. In honor of groups like The Chordettes and the McGuire Sisters, The Taffetas tells the story of Kaye, Peggy, Cheryl, and Donna four singing sisters from Muncie, Indiana, who are about to make their television debut on, Spotlight on Music.
