Tracy Morgan returns to finish what he never started.

It was just two months ago that former Saturday Night Live star Tracy Morgan had a bit of blowout here in South Florida. Don’t remember? That was when a drunken Morgan stumbled into the Mega 94.9 studios to plug his upcoming Improv performances and wound up stumbling out with a possible sexual battery charge. Oh…that blowout. The radio personality on the receiving end of said battery, Sandy Domingo, had told reporters Morgan groped her and said (here comes an actual quote), “He wants to impregnate me.” That one will never work, Tracy. Aside from the humility of having to live with the worst come-on since Joe Namath’s “I want to kiss you” fiasco, Morgan’s shows were called off and he fled Florida in shame.

Course, Morgan has had his fair share of public humiliation (he rivals Hilton and Lohan in the DUI category), and, frankly, that’s probably helping his career more than hurting it. Right now he’s starring in the Golden Globe-winning sitcom 30 Rock as the show’s mentally deranged lead “Tracy Jordan.” Jordan, as it were, is somewhat of a loose cannon who all-too-frequently gets caught doing stupid things in public: running mostly-naked down the 405 Freeway in L.A. screaming “I am a Jedi!” and making outrageous claims of relation to Thomas Jefferson, among others. Does art imitate life, or does life mirror art?

But, for all his wild eccentricities, Jordan is widely loved – kind of like Morgan. (Minus, of course, the sexual battery. Think you could apologize for that one, Tracy?). Morgan will be back to doing what he does best – making us laugh while we toss back our two-drink minimums – Thursday through Sunday at the Palm Beach Improv (550 S. Rosemary Ave. Suite 250, West Palm Beach). Tickets cost $21. Call 561-833-1812, or visit www.palmbeachimprov.com.
