Psycho Sid Vicious is the sort of case wrestling fans will point to if you insist to them that wrestling isn’t real; it may be scripted, they’ll say, but it is definitely real. Vicious was a 6-foot-9 blond World Championship Wrestling superstar built like El Capitan and given to powerbombing opponents into paroxysms until 2001, when he suffered a skin-puncturing compound fracture to his left leg. Now apparently healed, he and “The Marquee” Bruce Santee headline United 2, a “steel cage match” organized by an outfit called FloridaUnited. Also on the promo materials for the night: “fans bring the weapons.” It’s as real as you make it, kiddies!
