You’ve been dreaming about this moment all week, the way the diligent student secretly pines for recess. It’s Friday. Your boss has unhinged your cubicle’s shackles. For the next 64 hours, you’re free to do whatever you want. And what you want is a cocktail.

Or better yet, a free cocktail.

Gentlemen, loosen your ties. Ladies, switch from your office heels to your driving shoes. This evening at the Publix Liquor Store (601 S Andrews Ave., Fort Lauderdale), join the masses for a sampling from 4 to 7 p.m., when a rep from Effen Vodka shakes up decadent concoctions from its big three varieties: black cherry, raspberry, and traditional clear. You’ll meet other office slaves who share your love of booze and thriftiness. Sounds like the beginning of an Effen good weekend. Call 954-524-1311.
Fridays. Starts: Aug. 17. Continues through Aug. 31
