Frankie’s Pajayjay

It’s a celebration for your skivvies

Remember being a kid and having slumber parties filled with pillow fights, movie marathons, and all the candy a hopped-up adolescent could take? Frank Edwards does. As the founder and mascot of the Frank-e-oke karaoke empire, Edwards has incorporated the slumber party prime directive – keep rockin’ till the last body drops – into Sunday night’s Sixth Annual Pajama Party.

The bash calls out to children over the age of 18 to show up in their most comfortable sleeping attire (attire means not nude), chomp on bowls of Oreos and M&Ms, and belt out karaoke from Edward’s massive catalogue. A slumber party with karaoke, you say? How does that work? “The secret to Frank-e-oke is that we are always doing a kids party for drunks,” explains Edwards. “Most people haven’t done the pajama party thing since they were 12, but everyone looks so much better as a grown up in their pajamas.”

Edwards and crew will be handing out prizes to the best pajama-clad guests, including classiest, goofiest, and naughtiest – the last of which will have the ladies questioning which color-tinted, sheer teddy to wear. But we expect the coolest get-ups to come from the guys. Not only because there will be very beautiful, scantily-clad women in attendance, but because straight men almost never get the opportunity to hang out in bars in their underwear. Not unless they’re being really creepy, that is. The Drafthouse (22191 Powerline Rd., Boca Raton) starts rocking at 9 p.m., and won’t stop until question mark. Sun., Sept. 2, 9 p.m.
