Let’s look at the facts: The World Series of Video Games is now being broadcast on CBS Sports; “Frag” has entered Webster’s Dictionary as slang for killing your opponent in Quake; and the competition to find the best Madden NFL gamer, taking place each year in Times Square, nets one lucky player $100,000. And people complain about real athletes being overpaid.

The 10-week league will determine who’s the best Madden player in town, with the grand prize winner picking up a ticket for a two-day cruise.
