With all of the things that Jerry Garcias name has been associated with from the gluttonously half-baked Cherry Garcia ice cream and intoxicating Jerry Garcia wine to the inappropriate and depressing Jerry Garcia neckties and Grateful Dead Psychedelic Bus computer game it seems there is little the Garcia family wont slap a trademark on.
Alas, there is still one place where Jerrys spirit lives on without being tied to a cash register, and thats with the New Riders of the Purple Sage. What started out as an offshoot of the Grateful Dead in 1969, NRPS are known as the sound of the psych/cowboy movement that meshed folk, country, and trippy guitar hooks into one rockin sound. At the Bamboo Room (25 South J. St., Lake Worth) since Thursday, tonights NRPS show features original members Buddy Cage and David Nelson with Hot Tunas Michael Falzarano.
