Howie’s World
Published on September 27, 2007 at 12:00am
Did you ever wonder who Howie Mandel is speaking to on the cell phone during the dramatic “offer” moments of Deal or No Deal? Our guess: himself. Think about it – Mandel is basically insane. That’s always been his shtick, if you can even call it a shtick, because it’s totally real. His signature move is blowing up a latex glove on his head. He’s completely shaved because of his raging OCD disorder, not because he’s trying to look like Bruce Willis. If we ran into Mandel on the street, we’d run in the opposite direction fast. But if we saw him on stage? Ah, well that’s where crazy really works! And Mandel’s got all the crazy he needs to rock a joint like Hard Rock Live (5747 Seminole Way, Hollywood), which he’ll do Sunday at 7 p.m. Tickets cost 45 to $75. Call 954-797-5531, or visit www.ticketmaster.com.
