Boca Muse

7136 Berascasa Way

Boca Raton

High society, meet your barstool. Six months ago, the Boca Muse was the Red Lion Pub. Today, the sports-bar atmosphere of the Red Lion has been tossed in favor of a Roaring '20s elegance. Sconces on the walls, a faux fireplace, ornate lanterns, and Tiffany-style stained glass complete the concept. But this is a casual place. You'll find no raised pinkies here, but you will find beer, whiskey, and dudes (by which I mean me) wearing jeans and All-Stars. The owner's point was to make a classy yet laid-back place where people can sit with friends and feel at home. On a slow night, the Muse's owner and chef, Lisa, AKA Mrs. Robinson (hot, hot, hot), will even bring out samplers of delicious bites to go with the stuff in your glass. On Fridays, Peter Troup jams out Southern-rock classics. On Saturdays, catch award-winning singer/songwriter Jesse Young play some original tunes and some covers infused with a personal touch. On Tuesdays, women are treated to free food, wells, drafts, and wine from 7 to 10 p.m. Get two-for-one wells and drafts Monday through Saturday from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday is open-mic night. Thursday is trivia night, so be ready to answer questions like (I'm not shitting you), "How many calories are in a teaspoon of semen?" I love trivia. Remember when you were 13 and your dorky friend invited you to his house for a Trivial Pursuit party? Remember how his superhot mom brought out those delicious pizza rolls looking like "Stacy's Mom"? Well, this is much better. Plus, now you're old enough to not act like a fool — and be able to drink more than that nasty-ass Tang. Hooray for getting older.
