It's no small feat for a film about autism to leave you entertained, and Autism: The Musical is doing just that while winning rave reviews on the indie film circuit. Critics are throwing out words like "warm" and "uplifting" and even "funny" about the documentary – so FLIFF is bringing it here for you, good reader. Autismchronicles the lives of five children afflicted with this mysterious neurological disorder, as they create and star in their own full-length musical. Sometimes sad, other times powerful, the movie draws attention to a disorder that’s emblazoned across national headlines, yet few understand. Don't miss this one-time-only screening, today at 2 p.m., at the Miniaci Performing Arts Center, NSU (3100 Ray Ferrero Jr. Blvd., Davie); the screening is a fundraiser for the NSU's Baudhuin Preschool Parent Organization, serving children with autism and their families. Tickets cost $15. Call 954-760-9898, or visit www.fliff.com.
