Some Ointment Would Clear That Right Up

Swedish punk outfit the Hives was one of the biggest acts to come out of the garage-rock revival that swarmed the American pop scene in the early 2000s. But these guys aren’t bandwagon jumpers. The suit coat sporting five-piece were already five years removed from their initial salvo of sloppy, swagger-laced punk by the time their anthemic hit, “Hate to Say I Told You So,” topped the charts state-side. And now, even after the dust from the garage-rock explosion has settled, the Hives are back in action. They’re touring in support of their upcoming Pharrell Williams-produced release, The Black and White Album, and will open for Maroon 5 at the BankAtlantic Center (One Panther Pkwy, Sunrise) Saturday night. Tickets cost $22.25 to $47.75. Call 954-523-3309, or visit www.ticketmaster.com.
