Building a Better Food Fest

The Palm Beach Food & Wine Festival, only in its first year, might already be a better foodie shindig than its megabucks South Beach cousin. First, you have unlimited access to sample food and booze from more than 20 of the finest restaurants and wine bars in Palm Beach, like Amici, Bice, Café Boulud, Café Delamar, Caviarteria, and City Seller Wine Bar and Grill. All of that for just $25 if you purchase in advance – a huge difference compared to SoBe’s $180. Also, it takes place at 150 Worth (150 Worth Ave., Palm Beach), an upscale, indoor-outdoor shopping mall, meaning it’s a more intimate setting without all the pushing and obnoxiously long food lines. Plus, you can expect a spacious lounge area where you can pick up cigars and chill out between noshes (the event’s organizers suspect this will quell the mad rushing around the booths). Finally, every cent made at the event goes to the Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League, a part of the Humane Society of the Palm Beaches. Very cool. The PBFWF kicks off at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
