Chips, Dips, Chains, Whips: It’s a Party
Published on November 21, 2007 at 12:00am
Thanksgiving Weekend is prime partying time for South Florida gays: it’s the White Party, a series of events where young hairless things bop around on the dance floor until the wee hours of the morning. But tonight the real men will skip all that pretty-boy nonsense and head over to Uncle’s Night Club (1000 W State Road 84, Davie) for the annual Leather Masked Ball, a fundraiser for The Stonewall Library & Archives in Fort Lauderdale, and the Leather Archives & Museum in Chicago. Although it begs the question: how will they zip into all that leather after stuffing themselves on turkey?
The sweaty fun starts with a VIP pre-cocktail reception at 8 p.m., with the main room opening at 9 p.m. with a silent auction. Perfect timing since leather party auctions are always a great place to do some Christmas shopping. (Would mom like this ball gag in white, or red?) Stick around, throughout the evening there will be demos by the South Florida Bondage Club -- so please, if you attend, be sure you know what you’re getting yourself into if they ask for “volunteers from the audience.” We’d hate for you to get a nasty surprise. Tickets are $35 at the door, but $25 in advance; go to www.boundsouth.com or call 954-761-1236 for info.
