The spirit of Barbera Streisand lingers over every well-intentioned Funny Girlrevival. It must. After all, that dynamite crooner culled many a golden statuette for channeling comedienne Fanny Brice. Several FG stage incarnations and one film adaptation later (we wont mention that clunker sequel, shudder), its still hard finding a fiercely charismatic vaudevillian songbird to top Streisands legendary vocal power and chutzpah.
