Your Other Home For the Holidays

You’re tired of canned cranberries, listless about dry turkey, and getting more and more nauseous over the thought of sitting next to your creepy Aunt Beatrix at the family table (she’s wheezing into the mashed potato bowl, for Pete’s sake). Fear not, friend. You don’t have to spend another miserable Thanksgiving at home, at least not when you can head out to Seminole Paradise (1 Seminole Way, Hollywood) for a Thanksgiving night full of booze, gambling, and gorging. And while it might not be the wholesome experience you’re used to, it sure is fun.

Start the night with a trip to one of Seminole Paradise’s restaurants: Blue Plate, the casino’s 24-hour diner, is doing a kicked-up traditional feast that includes pumpkin soup with crème-fraïche, roasted Tom turkey with chestnut stuffing and giblet gravy, house-made cranberry relish, red bliss mashed potatoes, and haricot verte (that’s green beans) with sundried cherries and shallots, all for $18.95. Council Oak Steaks & Seafood has a $39.95 prix fixe meal, with frou-frou versions of classics like caramelized apple and apricot corn bread stuffing (a mouthful to say or eat) and roasted sweet potato mash, and Bluepoint Ocean Grill is also cooking up their own Thanksgivin’ spread for $27.95.

If you’re not already in a tryptophan-induced coma, the whizzing blur of gaming machines could put you over the top. Head into the Casino Thursday night and play your favorites using your Player's Club gaming card, and visit the Players Club to find out how you can participate in one of the $10,000 cash drawings taking place at 2, 4, 6, and 8 p.m., and the 1 million dollar "Royal Flush" drawing to be held on December 1. Plus, points you earn from playing with your card can be used every 30 minutes to win free play or $500 cash.

And if you’re still not too broke, krunk, or full to dance, then roll yourself over to Spirits Nightclub for a finale worthy of thankfulness. DJs will be spinning the dancefloor into a mess, and all the ladies in the house (we’re calling out to ya’) will get in and drink for free till midnight.
