Symphonic Graffiti

Led Zeppelin is one of those bands whose songs can be played in just about any configuration and still rock. Case in point: Puff Daddy’s cover of “Kashmir.” It was an unholy marriage, but you still wanted to tap your feet whenever Puffy shut his fat hole (however briefly). A much better conversion was the London Philharmonic Orchestra’s, which spawned a whole series of symphonic renditions — like the Music of Led Zeppelin Rock Symphony taking place today at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts (201 SW Fifth Ave., Fort Lauderdale). Vocalist Randy Jackson (of Zebra!) and conductor Brett Havens will front a full rock band and symphony orchestra, recreating 18 classic Zeppelin tunes. Tickets start at $29.
