Reunion Revisited

By Jason Budjinski

Published on December 20, 2007

Oh, the holidays. The only thing more annoying than family reunions is the onslaught of played-out Christmas music. Well, here’s one gathering that should help counter all that. For the second year now, Respectable Street (518 Clematis St., West Palm Beach) hosts the Foundation Reunion, a night of musical reverie that harkens back to the days of the Foundation nightclub, a local haven that existed from 1991 to 1995. In its heyday as the only joint around mixing dark-wave and club music, as well as hosting all-ages local shows, the Foundation was the weekly home of DJs Floyd Kelley, Jeff Wrye Messiah (Brian Jacobs), and Derek Warren – the same guys who are spinning Wednesday night at Respectable Street. The reunion starts at 9 p.m. And if you’re in the mood, Howley’s restaurant (4700 S. Dixie Hwy., West Palm Beach) is hosting a pre-party dinner and cocktails at 6:30 p.m. Call 561-832-9999, or visit www.myspace.com/foundationreunion.
